Retail and Office Leasing/Commercial Development
REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
Retail Leasing
Tenant: Negotiation of retail leases and related documents, including assignments, subleases, SNDA’s, termination agreements, and amendments for such national and regional food tenants as:
· Panera Bread
· NAYA
· Just Salad
And have handled over 500 leases for such food tenants as Starbucks , Au Bon Pain, Joe and the Juice, Paris Baguette, Jimmy Johns and Salt and Straw.
Other Leasing:
Medical office leasing for tenants such as: Knownwell Health; Iora Health; Bluebird Kids Health; and Brightline Health; retail leasing for clients such as Massage Envy, Orangetheory Fitness, Columbia Sportswear, Asics and Journell.
Locations include regional malls, outlet malls, city street deals, office buildings, and strip centers as well as free-standing sites, and airport, university and hospital sites.
Prior Work:
As Associate General Counsel at the former outlet developer Chelsea Property Group, Inc. I drafted, negotiated, and supervised leases, leases amendments, renewals, and other related documents for retail space in more than 25 outlet centers throughout the United States. A sampling of the tenants include:

· Polo
As in-house real estate counsel at Corporate Property Investors ,the former regional shopping mall developer, I drafted and negotiated leases for high-end regional shopping malls throughout the United States.
Development Contracts
While at Chelsea, I drafted and negotiated contracts for selling existing shopping centers and vacant land and for selling and ground leasing outlying pad sites. I conducted title review and prepared closing documents. I also drafted easement and restrictive covenant agreements for many of Chelsea’s centers.
Operations
At Chelsea, I handled a wide variety of day-to-day legal operating issues, such as access, CAM audit issues, and construction-related concerns and disputes. I also negotiated portfolio-wide contracts for pay-phone service and trash-hauling.
